Solomon's Palace
1 King Solomon also built a palace for himself. His palace took thirteen years to complete.

2 And he built another house, which is called the palace of the forest of Lebanon. The building was 100 cubits long and 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits high. It had four pillars made of cedar. At the top of each pillar was a cedar crown.

9 All these buildings were made of the finest kind of stone, flattened inside and out. These stones were cut to the right size using saws inside and outside. They were used from the foundation to the top of the walls. The wall around the courtyard was also made of the finest type of stone.

10 The foundations of 10 buildings were made of large and precious stones, some 10 cubits long and some 8 cubits long.

13 Solomon sent a message to a man named Hiram of Tire, and brought him to Jerusalem.

15 Hiram made two pillars of bronze. Both pillars were 18 cubits high and 12 cubits in circumference. The pillars were hollow and the metal was 3 inches thick.

16 Hiram made two bronze domes to support the pillars. Each one was 5 cubits high.

17 Then he made two nets for the pillars to cover the domes. There were seven chains for each dome.

18 Then he made two rows of ornaments that looked like pomegranates. He put these bronze pomegranates on pillars, covering the domes, on the nets.

20 The domes of the 20 pillars were raised to the top, which was on the side of the latticework. There were 200 pomegranates in rows around the two domes.

23 Then Hiram made a circle of bronze called the sea. It was 30 cubits in diameter, 10 cubits in diameter, and 5 cubits deep.

31 For bowls, a frame was made. It was up to 1 cubit on the bowl. The entrance to the bowl was round, with a diameter of 1 1/2 cubits, and bronze flowers were engraved on the frame. The frame was not round but square.

32 The frame had four wheels. These wheels were 1 1/2 hands in diameter. The axles of the wheels were attached to the carts.
