Two testimonies
1 Then I was given a measuring stick that looked like a hook. I was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar and count the people who worship there.

7 When these two witnesses have finished the work of spreading God's message, the beast will fight against them. This is the same animal that came from the bottomless pit. He will defeat them both and kill them.

8 The bodies of these two witnesses will be lying in the street of the big city. The city is called Sodom and Egypt. These city names have special meanings. This is the city where their Lord died.

9 People of every race, tribe, language, and nation will keep an eye on these two bodies for three and a half days. He will not let anyone bury him.

7 जब इन दो गवाहों ने परमेश्वर के वचन को फैलाना समाप्त कर दिया, तो जानवर उनके खिलाफ लड़ेंगे। यह वही जानवर है जो अथाह गड्ढे से आया था। वह उन दोनों को हरा देगा और उन्हें मार देगा।

8 इन दोनों गवाहों के शव बड़े शहर की गली में पड़े होंगे। शहर को सदोम और मिस्र कहा जाता है। इन शहर नामों के विशेष अर्थ हैं। यह वह शहर है जहाँ उनके भगवान की मृत्यु हुई थी।

9 हर जाति, जनजाति, भाषा और राष्ट्र के लोग साढ़े तीन दिनों तक इन दोनों निकायों पर नज़र रखेंगे। वह किसी को उसे दफनाने नहीं देगा।

10 धरती के निवासी खुशी मनाएँगे कि वे दोनों मर चुके हैं। वे दावतें देंगे और एक-दूसरे को उपहार भेजेंगे। वे ऐसा करेंगे क्योंकि इन दो पैगंबरों (गवाहों) ने अब दुनिया के लोगों के लिए बहुत कष्ट उठाए हैं।
