Tame the tongue
1 My brothers and sisters, most of you should not want to be teachers. Why? For he who teaches will be judged more severely.

8 But no one can control his tongue. It is wild and evil. It is full of poison that can kill people.

9 We use our tongues to praise the Lord and Father, and we also use it to curse people. God made these people like himself.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be the case.

11 Do freshwater and salt water gush out at the same time? No

12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive fruit? Or can olives grow on the vine? Or can figs grow on a vine? No And a well filled with salt water cannot give fresh water.

Heavenly knowledge
13 Is there anyone among you who is wise and understanding? So, let him prove his wisdom by doing right in a humble way. A wise person should not be arrogant.

14 If you are thundering and have bitter jealousy in your heart, there is no reason for you to be proud. Your ego is false which hides the truth.

15 Such “wisdom” does not come from God. This “wisdom” comes from the world. It is not spiritual. It is evil.

16 Where there is jealousy and selfishness, there will be disorder and every kind of evil.

17 But the wisdom that cometh from God is this. First of all, it is pure. It is peaceful, gentle and easily pleasing. This wisdom is full of compassion and willingness to do good to others. This wisdom is always fair and honest.

18 People who work for peace in a peaceful way get the riotous things of life that are found in the right way.
