The arrival of explorers
1 In the days of King Herod, in Bethlehem of Judea, when Jesus was born, many scholars from the East came to Jerusalem and asked,
2 Where is the King of the Jews who was born? For we have seen his star toward the east, and have come to worship him.
3 And when Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea, for it is written by the prophet,
6 Bethlehem, thou that art of the land of Judah, is not inferior to any of the princes: for out of thee shall come a ruler, which shall feed my people Israel.
7 And Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him;
8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child;
9 When they heard the king's words, they departed. And, behold, the star which they saw in the east, went before them, and dwelt in the place where the child was.
10 They were very happy to see the star.
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother: and they fell down, and worshiped him: and when they had opened their sacks, they offered gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
12 And when they had heard in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
Going to Egypt
13 And as they departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise! Take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek to kill the child.
14 And Joseph arose in the night, and went into Egypt, he and his mother;
15 And was there until the death of Herod: that the word of the Lord might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
16 But when Herod saw that the learned men had troubled him, he was wroth, and sent forth soldiers, and slew all that were in Bethlehem, and in all the country round about, both young and old. According to the time that the scholar got the exact address from the researchers.
17 Then the word of the prophet Jeremiah came true
18 A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and wailing. Rachel cries for her babies, and does not want comfort because they are not.
Returning from Egypt
19 And when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto Joseph in a dream in Egypt, saying,
20 Arise, take the child, and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they that are against the child are dead.
21 And Joseph arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there.
23 And he went and dwelt in the city of Nazareth, that the word might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

6 बेतलेहेम, तू यहूदा देश की वह कला, जो किन्हीं राजकुमारों से नीच नहीं है: क्योंकि तुम में से एक शासक आएगा जो मेरे लोगों को इस्राएल का चरवाहा करेगा।
7 और हेरोदेस ने टेट्रार्क को उसके द्वारा किए गए सभी के बारे में सुना;

मिस्र जा रहे हैं
13 और जब वे चले गए, तो देखो, प्रभु के एक दूत ने यूसुफ को एक सपने में कहा, उठो! बच्चे और उसकी माँ को ले लो और मिस्र भाग जाओ, और जब तक मैं तुम्हें बताऊं, तब तक वहाँ रहो, क्योंकि हेरोदेस बच्चे को मारने की कोशिश करेगा।
14 और यूसुफ रात में उत्पन्न हुआ, और मिस्र में गया, वह और उसकी माँ;
15 और हेरोदेस की मृत्यु तक वहाँ था: कि प्रभु के वचन को पूरा किया जा सकता है जो नबी द्वारा कहा गया था, मिस्र के बाहर, मैंने अपने बेटे को बुलाया है।
16 लेकिन जब हेरोदेस ने देखा कि पढ़े-लिखे लोगों ने उसे परेशान किया है, तो वह लड़खड़ा गया, और सैनिकों को भेज दिया, और बेथलेहेम में रहने वाले सभी लोगों को मौत की नींद सुला दिया, और सभी देश में युवा और बूढ़े दोनों के अनुसार। उस समय के अनुसार विद्वान शोधकर्ताओं से सटीक पता मिला।
17 तब नबी यिर्मयाह का वचन सच हुआ
18 रामा में एक आवाज़ सुनाई दी, रोना और रोना। राहेल अपने बच्चों के लिए रोती है, और आराम नहीं चाहती क्योंकि वे नहीं हैं।
मिस्र से लौटकर
19 और जब हेरोदेस मर गया, तो देखो, यहोवा के एक दूत ने यूसुफ को मिस्र में एक सपने में कहा,
20 उठो, बच्चे और उसकी माँ को ले लो, और इस्राएल के देश में जाओ: क्योंकि वे बच्चे के खिलाफ हैं जो मर चुके हैं।
21 और यूसुफ पैदा हुआ, और छोटे बच्चे और उसकी माँ को ले गया, और इस्राएल की भूमि में आया।
22 लेकिन जब उसने सुना कि अर्खेलॉस अपने पिता हेरोदेस की जगह यहूदिया पर राज कर रहा है, तो वह वहाँ जाने से डर रहा था।
23 और वह नाज़रेथ नगर में गया, और कहा कि यह वचन पूरा हो सकता है जो नबियों द्वारा बोला गया था, उसे नाज़नीन कहा जाएगा।
