Jesus being tempted
1 Then Jesus went out into the wilderness with the Spirit to be tempted by Satan.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterward hungered.
3 And the devil came and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 And the devil took him into the holy city, and set him on the top of the temple, and said,
6 If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down, for it is written, He shall command his angels unto thee, and they shall take thee up in their hands, lest at any time the stone hurt thy feet.
7 Jesus saith unto him, It is written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 And the devil taketh him up to the top of a mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them.
9 And said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then said Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan; For it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and worship him alone.
11 And the devil went out from him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
Jesus' ministry began in Galilee
12 When Jesus heard that John had been captured, he withdrew to Galilee.
13 And he left Nazareth, and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea in the coasts of Zebulun and Naphtali.
14 That the word of the prophet Isaiah may be fulfilled
15 The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, the way of the sea, across the Jordan,
16 And they that sat in darkness saw a great light: and light was made manifest unto them that sat in the land of the shadow of death.
17 And straightway Jesus preached, saying, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Calling the first disciples
18 And as he walked along the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19 And he said unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.
21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, with their fathers in the ship clearing their nets, and called them.
22 And straightway they forsook all, and followed him.
Jesus heals the sick.
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
24 And the fame of him went out into all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those which were paralyzed. Healed.
25 And great multitudes followed him from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judea, and from beyond the Jordan.
यीशु को लुभाया जा रहा है
