The Origin of Man.

1 In this way the heavens and the earth and all their inhabitants were created.

2 On the seventh day God finished his work, and on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

3 God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it, because that day he rested from his work which he had made.

                      The origin of man

4 This is a description of the creation of the heavens and the earth when they were created, that is, the day that the Lord God made the heavens and the earth.

5 No plant of the field was yet upon the earth, and no vegetation of the field had yet sprouted, because the Lord God had not sent rain upon the earth, nor any man to move the earth.

6 But the mist rose from the earth and watered the whole land.

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living creature.

8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

9 And the LORD God planted every tree of the ground, which was pleasant to look at, and good for food, and the tree of life in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

10 A river came out of Eden to irrigate the garden and divided it into four parts.

11 One is Pishon, which surrounds all the land of Havilah where there is gold

12 And the gold of that land is good: there are pearls and onyx stones.

13 And the name of the second river is Gihon, which goeth round about Ethiopia;

14 The name of the third river is Hidkeel, which flows east of Assyria, and the fourth river is the Euphrates.

15 The Lord God took the man and placed him in the garden of Eden to protect his field.

16 Then the Lord God gave the man permission to eat the fruit of every tree in the garden without fear.

17 Thou shalt not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

18 Then the Lord God said, "It is not good for a man to be alone, so I will make him a helper like him."

19 And the LORD God made every beast of the forest, and every fowl of the heaven, and every fowl of the air;  Done.

20 And Adam called all the beasts of the field, and the fowls of the air, and all the beasts of the field;

21 Then the Lord God put the man into a deep sleep, so he fell asleep and God took out one of his ribs and filled it with flesh.

22 The Lord God made a woman out of the rib he had taken out of the man and brought her to the man.

23 And the man said, This is the bone of my bones, and the flesh of my flesh, so shall it be called Woman: for she is taken out of the man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh.

25 The man and his wife were both naked, but they were not together.

1 इस तरह स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी और उनके सभी निवासी बनाए गए थे।

2 सातवें दिन परमेश्वर ने अपना काम पूरा किया, और सातवें दिन उसने अपने सारे काम से विश्राम किया।

3 भगवान ने सातवें दिन आशीर्वाद दिया, और इसे पवित्र किया, क्योंकि उस दिन उन्होंने अपने काम से आराम किया था जो उन्होंने बनाया था।

                         मनुष्य की उत्पत्ति

4 यह आकाश और पृथ्वी के निर्माण का वर्णन है जब वे बनाए गए थे, अर्थात्, उस दिन जब भगवान भगवान ने आकाश और पृथ्वी को बनाया था।

5 खेत का कोई भी पौधा पृथ्वी पर नहीं था, और खेत की कोई भी वनस्पति अभी तक नहीं उग पाई थी, क्योंकि भगवान ने पृथ्वी पर बारिश नहीं भेजी थी, और न ही किसी आदमी ने धरती को हिलाया था।

6 लेकिन धुंध ने धरती से उठकर पूरी जमीन पर पानी डाला।

7 और यहोवा परमेश्वर ने भूमि की धूल से मनुष्य का निर्माण किया, और उसकी नासिका से प्राण फूंक दिए, और मनुष्य एक जीवित प्राणी बन गया।

8 और यहोवा परमेश्वर ने अदन में पूर्व की ओर एक बाग लगाया, और वहाँ उसने उस आदमी को रखा जिसे उसने बनाया था।

9 और यहोवा परमेश्वर ने जमीन के हर पेड़ को लगाया, जो देखने में सुखद था, और भोजन के लिए अच्छा था, और बगीचे के बीच में जीवन का पेड़, और अच्छे और बुरे के ज्ञान का पेड़ था।

10 एक नदी ईडन से बगीचे की सिंचाई करने के लिए निकली और इसे चार भागों में विभाजित किया।

11 एक पिशोन नाम, जो हविला की सारी भूमि को घेरता है जहाँ सोना है

12 और उस देश का सोना अच्छा है: मोती और गोमेद पत्थर हैं।

13 और दूसरी नदी का नाम गिहोन है, जो इथियोपिया के बारे में बताती है;

14 तीसरी नदी का नाम हिडकील है, जो असीरिया के पूर्व में बहती है, और चौथी नदी यूफ्रेट्स है।

15 यहोवा परमेश्वर उस आदमी को ले गया और उसे अपने खेत की रक्षा करने के लिए अदन के बाग में रखा।

16 तब यहोवा परमेश्‍वर ने उस आदमी को बगैर किसी डर के हर पेड़ का फल खाने की इजाज़त दी।

17 लेकिन अच्छे और बुरे के ज्ञान के पेड़ को मत खाओ, जिस दिन आप इसे खाते हैं, आप निश्चित रूप से मर जाएंगे।

18 तब यहोवा परमेश्वर ने कहा, "मनुष्य का अकेले रहना अच्छा नहीं है, इसलिए मैं उसे अपने जैसा सहायक बनाऊँगा।"

19 और यहोवा परमेश्वर ने जंगल के हर जानवर, और स्वर्ग के हर घर और हवा के हर घर को बनाया;

20 और आदम ने मैदान के सभी जानवरों, और हवा के झोंकों और मैदान के सभी जानवरों को बुलाया;

21 तब यहोवा परमेश्वर ने आदमी को गहरी नींद में डाल दिया, इसलिए वह सो गया।

22 यहोवा परमेश्वर ने एक स्त्री को उस पसली से निकाला, जिसे उसने उस आदमी से निकाला था और उसे उस आदमी के पास लाया था।

23 और उस आदमी ने कहा, यह मेरी हड्डियों की हड्डी है, मेरे मांस का मांस है।

24 इसलिए एक आदमी अपने पिता और मां को छोड़ देगा, और अपनी पत्नी को दे देगा: और वे एक मांस होंगे।

25 आदमी और उसकी पत्नी दोनों नग्न थे, लेकिन वे एक साथ नहीं थे।
